I am Hanjun Park, Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at Texas Tech University and the leader of the Park Lab.

My research advances human-centered systems by studying physical ergonomics, occupational biomechanics, and work physiology to better understand how people interact with technologies and work environments.

Human movement, whether deliberate, habitual, or reflexive, is not always effective or efficient. Suboptimal movement can reduce performance, create mismatches between people and the technologies and environments they interact with, and contribute to fatigue and injury. As workplaces evolve, technologies advance, and workforces become more diverse and older, designing systems that support healthy and effective human movement becomes increasingly important.

The Park Lab addresses these challenges by integrating biomechanics, motor control and learning, and data science to develop explainable and predictive models of human movement and human–technology interaction, enabling safer, healthier, and more effective work systems.
